General History of Endoscopy

In 2005, Dr Camran Nezhat MD FACOG FACS was awarded a fellowship by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to research and write "The History of Endoscopy".
Dr Nezhat is a laparoscopic surgeon and reproductive endocrinology / infertility sub-specialist who has been teaching and practicing obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California since 1993.
He is a pioneer in the field of laparoscopic surgery and is best known for the surgical innovation referred to as video-laparoscopy or “operating off the monitor,” a method now widely accepted but, in the early years of laparoscopy, once considered controversial.
