The 1960 BAUS Annual Scientific Meeting was held from 23 to 25 June 1960 at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (pictured upper right), Lincoln's Inn Fields, London and The Royal Society of Medicine, Wimpole Street, London.

Other Information

On Wednesday 22 June, members and their guests were invited by the President and Council of BAUS to a Reception at the Royal College of Surgeons.

The next morning, several short papers were presented, following which the meeting transferred to the Royal Society of Medicine (pictured lower right). The Annual Dinner was held in the Royal College of Surgeons in the evening, with 126 members and their guests in attendance. During the dinner, the St Peter's Medal was presented to Dr Cuthbert Dukes.

On 24 June, a session was held on "Calculous disease of the upper urinary tract". In the evening, a Supper-Dance was held at the Savoy Hotel for 77 people.

On the morning of 25 June, clinico-pathological demonstrations and discussions were held at Great Ormond Street Hospital (with Mr D Innes-Williams), the London Hospital (with Professor Victor Dix), the Middlesex Hospital (with Sir Eric Riches) and St Paul's Hospital/Institute of Urology (with members of the Consultant staff).
