Philip Clark passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Monday 18 March 2024, having recently celebrated his 96th birthday with family and friends.



Philip Clark was appointed to Leeds in 1964, succeeding Professor Leslie Pyrah, and he had a major impact on the development and promotion of urology in Leeds and Yorkshire, including the introduction of laser & shockwave lithotripsy.

Philip was the first foreign election as Assistant Secretary General to the SIU in 1976, ultimately becoming Vice President, and he keenly fostered international relations in urology including offering training opportunities in Leeds to overseas graduates, often forging lasting memories and friendships.
