First "modern" resectoscope
This is an Ogier-Ward resectoscope (circa 1938) which also has a Stern-McCarthy type mechanism.
This exhibit is also from the Addenbrooke's collection.
Ogier Ward introduced a modification where the loop came towards the sheath and the telescope retracted at the same time. He also introduced a ramp which allowed the loop to be inserted more deeply into the prostate.
Nesbit later modified the movement into the pistol grip which we use today.
