The 1966 BAUS Annual Scientific Meeting took place from 23 to 25 June 1966 at the Roscoe Building, University of Manchester (pictured upper right), Brunswick Street, Manchester.

Other Information

On Wednesday 22 June, members and guests were invited by the Lord Mayor of the City iof Manchester to a Civic Reception and Buffet Supper at Manchester Town Hall.

Following the AGM and short papers, on 23 June, a discussion took place on "Chronic renal failure treated by dialysis".

In the evening, the President and Council hosted a Reception, followed by the Annual Dinner at the Midland Hotel, attended by 223 members and their guests.

On 24 June, a discussion took place on "Chronic renal failure treated by renal homotransplantation" and the 1966 Urological Prize was awarded to Mr JP Maddern for his essay on "Surgery of the staghorn calculus".

In the evening, members and their guests were given a guided tour around Bernard Lovell's radioastronomy telescope at Jodrell Bank (pictured lower right), followed by supper at Mere Country Club.

On the final morning (25 June), clinico-pathological demonstrattions were held at The Christie Hospital & Holt Radium Institute, and Manchester Royal Infirmary.
