BAUS 1951 Glasgow/Edinburgh
The 1951 BAUS Annual Scientific Meeting was held jointly from 28 June to 1 July 1951 at the Royal Faculty of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (pictured upper right), St Vincent Street, Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicholson Street, Edinburgh.

The main subject for discussion at the start of the meeting in Glasgow was "Tumours of the kidney and ureter".
Operating sessions and demonstrations were held at The Royal Infirmary, The Victoria Infirmary, The Western Infirmary and The Royal Cancer Hospital.
The Annual Dinner, attended by 110 members and guests, took place in the Royal Faculty in Glasgow.
On 30 June, the meeting moved to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, and was followed by tea in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Over 150 attendees then dined in the Royal College, before returning to Glasgow on 1 July for a scenic cruise along the River Clyde to Kilbrennan Sound (pictured lower right) and Kintyre, from where the steamer returned to Craigendoran.
