Female, Neurological & Urodynamic
Urology (FNUU)
This is the sub-specialty of urology which covers the investigation and treatment of benign conditions of the lower urinary tract, and related problems within the female genital tract.
The Section's focus is on disorders of function and on inflammatory conditions affecting the lower urinary tract.
A major component of the subspecialty is neuro-urology. This includes the management of patients with neurological conditions that have an impact on urinary tract and sexual function. Static conditions (such as spinal cord injury & cerebrovascular disease/strokes), as well as progressive disorders (such as multiple sclerosis & Parkinson’s disease) fall under the remit of the Section.

As members are aware, following the closure of the BAUS SUI registry, and pending the development of the national registry, it is important that surgeons continue to audit the outcomes of SUI surgery. BAUS has made this skeleton spreadsheet available (requires members' login) to allow full data capture for your own records during the interim period.
The next meeting of the Section (jointly with the Section of Andrology & Genito-Urethral Surgery) will take place from 9 to 11 March 2025 at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
