Introduction from Jo Cresswell, BAUS President

Dear Colleagues

An exciting week as nine of our BAUS regions have selected their representatives from June 2024. Congratulations to all of those who have been elected. Welcome to BAUS Council and a great group of peers who work very hard to represent their colleagues in all aspects of our professional lives. To all of you nominated, thank you for courageously stepping up to take on the rewards and challenges of BAUS leadership. To all our colleagues working in Northern Ireland, thank you for your engagement - the highest turnout I have seen in an election for some time. This must be a positive prognostic indicator for the future. If you are a Welsh Urologist, there is still time to talk to Ian Pearce or myself about BAUS Council representation for the Welsh Urology Society

Good to see BAUS members contributing to the literature in wide-ranging fields. Well done to the FNUU Section, who published the much anticipated BAUS Consensus on Ketamine Uropathy this week. BJUI is a strong partner to BAUS and we look forward to streamlining access for our members through the BAUS Digital project. Don't miss the big launch of the progressive web app at the BAUS President's Address at 9-50am on the 25th June. Shameless promotion of the newest addition to BAUS member benefits - a 3 year workstream comes to fruition.

Best wishes

Jo Cresswell

Oncology - "Generalist" for the Executive Committee

This role was open to colleagues who wish to shape the oncology agenda and are currently predominantly involved in the diagnostic cancer pathway and cancer units (as opposed to ‘centres’).

Congratulations to Shiv Pandian (North Middlesex Hospital, London) who has been co-opted as the new "Generalist" and takes up his role with immediate effect.
