President's Introduction - Prof Ian Pearce

Welcome all,

As ever, we are in the midst of exciting times. Voting in the BAUS Vice Presidential elections has now been open for a week - I hope you have all received the link to enable you to cast your votes, and if not, please see the news items in this week’s newsletter or head over to the election section of the BAUS website. We are extremely lucky to have such an outstanding collection of candidates standing, please do exercise your right to vote in this important election.

On the topic of elections, you’ll see that there is advance notice of the Regional BAUS Rep elections which will take place in some regions.

While it certainly seems as if it is regional meeting season, with details of multiple forthcoming meetings detailed within the newsletter this week also.

As you will know, Prof Rakesh Heer is the RCS England BAUS Surgical Specialty Lead in Urology, and we are now recruiting Associate Leads to work alongside Rakesh. The advert is included in the newsletter, along with the job description and link to application form. The deadline for applications is Friday 25 April, with interviews scheduled for Wednesday 30 May. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss this on an individual basis.

Finally please don't forget to register for the Annual Meeting in Manchester in June. The program looks amazing, the weather tropical and Manchester is still a tariff free zone !!

A reminder that voting closes at midday on Thursday 17 April.

BAUS members Specialist Register, Urological Specialist and Trainee may now vote in these elections.
