The post holder will work through a structured training syllabus, complete with online and simulator training, dry lab, web tab training; which if successfully completed will result in accreditation in robotic surgery. The hospital has four Intuitive robotic systems, as part of a multi-specialty robotic programme, including urology, upper GI, colorectal, gynaecology and ENT. The urology department has five robotic surgeons, providing a comprehensive robotic service covering radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephro-ureterectomy, radical nephrectomy, cystectomy with intra-corporeal reconstruction, and a benign reconstruction. The fellowship programme can be tailored to meet the requirements of the successful applicants experience and future sub-specialty ambitions.
The chosen candidate will undertake approximately 100 Robotic procedues. The type of the procedures will be influenced ny the candidate interest which includes radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephro-ureterectomy, radical nephrectomy, cystectomy with intra-corporeal reconstruction, and a benign reconstruction.
Davinci X and Davinci Xi Robots
The fellow will attend weekly cancer MDT and have protected time for audit and research activities.
