Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a twin site modern District General Hospital. The Urology team comprises 7 consultant urologists, of which 5 perform HoLEP, and a total of 6 middle grade posts. The team undertakes clinical activities on both sites with elective surgery at Maidstone Hospital. This post is a unique opportunity for a trainee or middle grade urologist to acquire specialist experience and skills in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate and laser stone surgery under the guidance of experienced laser surgeons. This post could potentially suit a trainee urologist at their end of their specialist registrar training, an established middle grade, or prior to being appointed to a urology rotation.
The successful candidate will participate in a 1.6 on call Rota with prospective cover with other middle grades. 3 additional sessions are allocated for on call.
Up to 50 HoLEPs, 15 PCNL, and 30 flexible ureteroscopy procedures expected.
Lumenis Pulse 120 Moses Holmium laser. Versacut and Simai Morcellators. Olympus digital flexible ureteroscopes
Weekly MDT, monthly clinical governance meetings. Clinical research and presentation at conference expected.
Primary Objective of Fellowship
Independent in HoLEP. Experience with complex stones.
