As noted on the Trust page the Renal Surgery Team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust are a specialist referral centre for the management of complex renal tumours in solitary kidneys. The risk adjustment model used by BAUS does not adequately take account of the niche group of patients treated at this centre. The transfusion rates have been reviewed by one of the clinical leads for this audit and, given the complex casemix here, it was concluded the transfusion rates are not a cause for concern. This data includes 14 private cases.
