Personal Statement
Ben Challacombe was appointed to Guy's and St Thomas' in 2010 following his fellowship in Australia. Ben is the highest volume surgeon for robotic partial nephrectomy in the UK and also specialises in robotic radical prostatectomy, robotic surgery for nephro-ureterectomy, pyeloplasty, adrenalectomy and nephrectomy, together with Holmium laser prostatectomy (HoLEP). Ben has performed over 2500 robotic procedures and 1600 HoLEPS. He runs the robotic fellowship programme & teaches robotics and HoLEP at the British and European Annual Urology meetings. He is also involved in the academic and research programmes within the department, and is the urological cancer lead.
